The placement of a vehicle head restraint restraint is critical to mitigating common soft-tissue neck injuries that often result from a collision.

It was for this fact that the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, or ICBC, commissioned Rona Kinetics & Associates of North Vancouver, Canada, to design the HRMD, known as the ICBC HRMD.

We worked alongside ICBC and Rona Kinetics to manufacture the initial HRMD in 1995 and every genuine HRMD since. Soon after the introduction of the HRMD, other parties requested a unit of their own in order to evaluate vehicle safety.

As of 2015, we took over the HRMD program from ICBC and incorporated HRMD Canada Inc., a subsidiary of our parent company. This enabled us to provide a consistent supply of HRMD’s to auto manufacturers, research and design facilities, government and insurance companies throughout the world.

In 2015 we instituted a comprehensive Re-calibration and repair program for HRMD’s as well as calibration program to match HRMD’s to the H-Point Manikin.
